Unique Kids’ Birthday Party Locations

Monday, March 30th, 2009

A good friend of mine recently told me about a child’s birthday party that she attended at Habitot Children’s Discovery Museum where all of the kids dressed up, made crafts and learned about nature, ecology and farming—all in a fun way!

She was so impressed by Habitot that we started talking about all of the fun places a parent can host his or her child’s birthday party in a unique and educational way. Here are a few ideas for the perfect location for your little one’s next celebration:

You Tell Us: Earth Hour 2009

Friday, March 27th, 2009

This Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 8:30PM people all over the world will be turning off their lights for one hour in a massive movement dedicated to curbing global climate change. Participants are encouraged to write blogs, post photos to the site’s Flickr group and upload videos to YouTube about the experience in the hopes that Earth Hour 2009 will help spark a renewed emphasis on environmental activism.

Earth Hour 2009 seems like a great opportunity to teach your children about the effects of global climate change. There’s even a cute video to help empower kids to take a stand on the environment’s behalf.

Will you be participating in Earth Hour 2009? If not, what do you tell your kids about global climate change and the environment? Are your kids interested in community service and activism? You tell us!
