If you’re in love and looking for a special way to spend an evening in this Valentine’s Day, you’re in luck! Here are our top picks for romantic Valentine’s Day to watch with someone special. (And if you are more lovelorn than lovestruck this year, don’t worry… We’ll have a list of Valentine’s Day movies for those of you who are feeling less-than-lovey-dovey this year later in our series.)

So what do you think of our selections below? What would you add to the list? Leave us a comment and let us know.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

This beloved film is a classic for a reason—a unique love story about what it means to “belong” to someone else, a no-name cat, kissing in the rain and Audrey Hepburn at her most lovable all make this a must-see film. If you’ve never watched it, settle in for some stunning cinema with Breakfast at Tiffany’s this Valentine’s Day.

The Notebook

While most love stories leave their characters young, in love and ready to live out their happily ever after together, The Notebook takes you a step further in the main characters’ journeys. That, combined with gorgeous vintage costumes and a vibrant Rachel McAdams make The Notebook your ideal Valentine’s Day entertainment.

Chocolat

Johnny Depp. Juliette Binoche. A small French village. Chocolate. What’s not to love here?

Enchanted

I grew up adoring Disney princess in all of their sparkly pink glory, but even if I hadn’t the playful fun of Enchanted would still get me every time. Amy Adams’ cheerful style just makes me want to embrace my inner child and/or burst into song in the middle of the street from time to time.

Pride and Prejudice

I love the most recent adaptation of this classic Jane Austen novel starring Keira Knightly. It takes the timeless story and presents it in a perfectly gorgeous way. Plus, the film will probably leave the man in your life aspiring to be your very own Mr. Darcy…

An Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle

Trapped inside by snow and the chilly winter weather? Watch Cary Grant charm Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember and you’ll be sure to tear up when Meg Ryan references the film in Sleepless in Seattle. It’s the perfect Valentine’s Day double-feature.

The Princess Bride

Admittedly, the men in your life might not be too crazy about the movies on this list, but they are sure to love The Princess Bride. With it’s zany humor and swashbuckling adventure, this is one movie that will leave you laughing together.

DIY Holiday Party Napkin Rings

Supplies

Step One: Cut Out Designs

Carefully cut out designs from your invitations that you plan to use as the primary focus of your napkin rings, then cut strips of paper long enough to wrap fully around your napkins.

Step Two: Add Foam Dots
Use the adhesive already on the back of the 3-D dots and attach them to the backs of the designs you cut out in Step 1.

Step Three: Create Rings and Affix Designs

Glue the strips of paper into ring shapes, then use the adhesive on the other side of the foam to secure the design elements you’re highlighting into place.

Step Four: Create One for Each Guest

Once your napkin rings are ready, simply slide the rolled napkins through for a fun and festive table presentation!

DIY Holiday Party Favors

If you have big plans for a cookie party, you’re hosting an event for aspiring cooks or you just want to send your guests home with something sweet, these cute cookie cutter favors are the perfect party favor solution.

Supplies

How to Do It:

Write one of your favorite cookie recipes on the thank you cards, hole punch each one and string a ribbon through the hole to attach the cookie cutter to the card. It couldn’t be any sweeter (or easier) than that!

November is here, and that means the holiday season is only a hop, skip and a few weeks away. If you’re planning a holiday party this year, now is the perfect time to think about the theme, style, decor and menu you have in mind. After all, it’s a downhill slide from here into Thanksgiving, gift shopping madness and all the crazy fun of December!

So here are a few ideas to get you started. From black and white galas to silly Christmas sweater parties, these holiday party invitation themes are sure to get you in the party planning spirit.

What look are you leaning toward for your holiday celebration this year?

A Simple & Elegant Affair

I love the way this colorful holiday party invitation almost shimmers. The soft rings of color remind me of warm, glowing Christmas lights and the opening scenes of some of my favorite holiday movies.

Black & White Ball

One the best holiday parties I’ve ever thrown was a black and white party. All of the guests wore strictly black or white, and we had food and drinks to match the theme (with punches of red scattered around for fun!).

A Christmas Wrapping Party

Who says your holiday event has to be a glamorous evening affair? Host a holiday wrapping party to encourage your friends to wrap their gifts and finish prepping for the big celebration.

Tacky Christmas Sweater Parties & Winter Hat Parties

Whether you ask everyone to don their most horrible Christmas sweaters or to wear their favorite winter hats, these party themes are sure to result in some of the best pictures of the season.

Holiday Cookie Swap

Have all of your friends bring their favorite holiday cookies, then provide tupperware for everyone to take home a mixed-and-matched selection of their favorite treats.

Winter Activities Parties

From ice skating to snowball fights, sledding and caroling, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the crisp winter weather all season long. So why not turn your favorite activities into a party theme too?

A Holiday Dinner Party

No matter which winter holiday you and your family celebrate, there’s always one common theme that runs through them all—food! Put your favorite traditional recipes on display with a fun and festive dinner party this season.

Ornament Exchange Parties

This is a tradition among my group of friends. Everyone brings an ornament to exchange, then we all fight over who gets to take home our favorites, from sports-themed ornaments to goofy reindeer, hot pink heels covered in glitter and elegant, rustic designs.

White Elephant Gift Exchanges

Unlike a normal gift exchange, White Elephant parties don’t require a lot of time and effort to prepare. Simply tell your guests to clean out their closets and get rid of those s’mores makers and holiday log DVDs they never use!

Gingerbread House Decorating Party

Perfect for kids (or parents with a sweet tooth!), this party is sure to be sticky-sweet fun. Arrange all the supplies, then encourage your guests to get creative.
