Ashley Slater from The Sweet Season shares her baby shower.
When my family members sat down to start planning my baby shower it was so exciting and I knew creating a theme was important. This will be my husband and I’s first child after trying for a while, so we wanted everything to be perfect! I knew right away that the invitation was KEY for the day because it would set the tone and theme and the rest of the decor would follow suit.
I loved the idea of creating a rustic modern table scape with mason jars and reclaimed wood and wanted an invite that would give the guests an idea of what to expect. Tinyprints always has so many cute options, but as soon as we saw this chalkboard-esque invitation we knew it was just the right fit! From that starting point we chose the rest of the decor for the day.
We started by layering burlap and chevron fabrics and accented the table with a vintage wooden crate and fresh flowers. To carry over the chalkboard theme we created “welcome baby” signage as well as chalkboard labels for our home made lemonade and jar of lemon sweets. Fresh fruits, gelato, sandwiches and cake adorned the table and a burlap runner and tissue paper pom-poms tied everything together! Everything turned out beautifully and it was a great day!
