Kim from Newly Woodwards shares her Bring Your Own Pumpkin Party inspired by one of our Halloween party invitations.
As Halloween approaches, I have been looking for a way to entertain my one-year-old and his friends. (And okay, my mom friends, too.) I finally decided to turn carving pumpkins on its head and host a Bring Your Own Pumpkin Party – kid-style.
Jack ‘O Lantern fruit cups, Halloween sensory bin, treat bag, healthy banana ghosts, Kinda Candy Corny invite, orange dessert table, ghost luminaries, pumpkin lanterns, pumpkin garland
The goal is to host a party that is fun for all ages! Instead of spooky, I chose to focus on the fun and even goofy aspects of Halloween – perky pumpkins, sweet candy corn (my son’s favorite) and kid-friendly foods and activities.
Because the guest list is young, I’ll provide safe and simple tools to decorate pumpkins. I picked up loads of foam stickers, pom pom creatures and googly eyes. I’ll also have non-toxic paints and kid aprons for those who prefer the messy. A sensory bin, photo booth and handprint art will round out the activities for this afternoon get-together.
I think that celebrating with kids is the best part of holidays. I can’t wait to see my son and his friends get creative and have fun. I hope that the Bring Your Own Pumpkin Party becomes an annual tradition in our household.
