The talented DIY enthusiast, Natalie from Natalie Creates, shares how she perfectly styles her home to host a fun-filled summer themed baby shower for a dear friend.
Hello, my name is Natalie of Natalie Creates and I am so excited to share with you today a baby shower I put together for my dear friend, Vanessa, and her little one on the way. She’s not your traditional mama! She’s an artist with an affinity for vintage and bold colors. From her invitations to the table cloth, I wanted to reflect her unique and quirky tastes. I paired vintage, delicate pieces with bright colors.
If you follow along on my blog, you know that I love adding handmade pieces to any event! There is definitely a handmade element to this shower. I made the banners and bunting from scraps of bright, fun fabrics. I put together bouquets of flowers picked from our farm and placed them in mason jars with fabric ribbon. I hand-painted canvases with basic shapes to add more interest and modern twist.
For the cupcakes, I made fun cupcake toppers with Tiny prints’ colorful confetti gift tag stickers, card stock and yellow plastic sticks. With a bit of hot glue, these came together perfectly and added just the right amount of color. I love that the gift tag stickers can be customized & used for packaging, labels, toppers and more.
Vanessa has also been craving ice cream. We put together a fun ice cream bar with plenty of toppings for guests to choose from! I made little labels for the ice cream and we added the cartons to a bucket with ice. It was a huge hit!
This was such a fun event to put together! I hope you gathered some ideas to include in your next shower!
