We are so excited to have Tanya from It’s Sweet and Savory share her recipe for a fabulous Grapefruit Cocktail!
Have you ever been inspired by art or design to create a recipe? I’m always baking or concocting something and I generally make too much for my family to consume. Well we could consume it, but it wouldn’t be wise. So what do I do? I end up taking treats to my friends. I’ve got my husband trained now, he doesn’t eat until he knows if it’s for him or not. I always save him treats, plus he’s my taste tester too.
So how do you make your goodies look great on the go? I’m all about the package. I usually use cellophane bags and tie some twine on them. Looks nice and simple, but I needed to pizzazz it up. So I decided gift tags would be great. I needed inspiration, so after browsing through Tiny Prints site I found the perfect designs for my ideas. Chevron Sparkle gift tags, you know you like it just for the name. They are even prettier in person.
First off there was a cocktail I was dying to try. I love grapefruit and it’s in season right now. I wanted a pink refreshing drink, I’d see a lot of these in magazines and online. Super bonus was how the colors complimented these pretty gift tags.
- 1.5 ounce Gin
- 1 ounce Triple Sec
- ¾ ounce Campari
- 1 half grapefruit Juice
- ½ ounce of lemon juice
- Garnish with either lemon or grapefruit twist
You’ll need a cocktail shaker to put the ice in and all the ingredients. Shake it up, strain and pour into cocktail glass of choice, or in my case these mason jars, which were great for traveling with and delivering to friends.
Of course I had to taste test, and everything tastes better in a pretty glass. Then I moved over to my jars that were labeled with my gift tags.
Tiny Prints also has cards to match the labels I picked out – Chevron Sparkle Thank You cards. Now I can write a little note or jot down the recipe share with my dear friends.
