A New Kind of Baby Shower
I’ve been to my fair share of baby showers, and am happy to say that each and every one has had its own unique twist, whether it be creative games, decor or location. However, I recently stumbled across this adorable “Charm” Baby Shower, and I couldn’t resist writing about it. I think it’s particularly great for a baby shower for a second or third child, once you have all the “baby goods” that you’ll need.
The idea is this: in lieu of gifts, each guest brings a small charm or bead that represents one special wish for the baby’s life. For example, a tiny charm of a tree might represent that you hope the baby grows up to be strong, tall and resilient. A bead with an image of a heart on it might mean that you hope the baby’s life is full of love from beginning to end. Whoever is throwing the shower will bring a chain or bracelet to string all of the charms on. By shower’s end, the new mom will have a wonderful memory full of special wishes for her child that she can one day pass on to him or her!
This is also a great idea if you still want to do “real” gifts as a little side event. Each guest will stand up and present their charm or bead to the new mommy with their special wish. So touching!

This is such a creative idea for a baby shower. This would be great for a second or third time mom-to-be who may already have the baby essentials but still wants to celebrate the arrival of her baby.
