I have a little confession to make. I never put away the Christmas cards we got last Christmas. The smiling faces of our family and friends have grinned at us from the mantel since last December, acting as the backdrop to shared updates or just reminders of the people we love who are spread around the world.
Guests look at me a little strangely when they come over, but I can’t bring myself to put everyone away.
With Rosh Hashana in a day and holiday cards coming soon, I’m going to have to figure out what to do to clear some space for new arrivals.
Will I put everyone in a box? Find a photo album big enough to house the extra special cards? I’m not sure yet.
I just hope the living room doesn’t look too sparse as we wait for the 2011 cards to arrive.
