A friend of mine keeps gushing about how excited he and his wife are about their new concert tickets—for a kids’ show.

It turns out the music he’s so amped to hear performed live isn’t quite as cutesy as the Raffi or Marlo Thomas songs people generally associate with children’s music. It’s a whole new kind of genre that blends the mellow stylings of your favorite folk singers with kid-friendly themes.

One of our favorite musicians to emerge from the cool kids music scene is Frances England, the sweet songwriter that my friend is so excited to hear live.

Check out her charming video below. Do you have a favorite kid-friendly musician? What can you listed to over and over again without feeling overwhelmed?

Frances England is awesome. Not your traditional kids music but I’m ok with that.
