Martin Luther King Day – A National Day of Service

Like most other businesses, Tiny Prints will be closed next Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Day.  As a kid I was always so excited about this holiday as it meant a long weekend soon after winter break.  However, it was not until very recently that I learned that Martin Luther King Day is meant to be a national day of service. The aim is to make the holiday a day where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to improve lives, bridge social barriers, and move our nation closer.

If your looking for something to keep the kids occupied next Monday, check out the Volunteer Match program available at MLKday.gov.

I wasn’t aware that it was meant to be a national day of service either. Thanks for the site and info!
