So, here we go. For the past several months I have been working with some of my fellow Tiny Prints staffers to conceive a project called “The Gratitude Challenge.” The idea started back in January when President Obama gave a speech at his inauguration that talked about having hope. Inspired by his words, we found ourselves discussing this speech often in the weeks following, which caused many of us to realize that we are living in a time where people need hope.
Eventually our conversations evolved and we realized that more than hope, we need gratitude. After all, there is always something to be thankful for even if it is something that may seem insignificant to someone else, and at Tiny Prints we are working with people who come to us celebrate their happiest moments. Whether it be the birth of a child or an announcement of a wedding or just well wishes through a thank you note or a holiday card, we realized that there are many things both big and small that everyone can be grateful for.
So months later, after developing this project in which we hope to encourage people to find the brighter side of life, I am ready to take part in the challenge myself. My first task? Sign The Gratitude Pledge, which states…
“…I promise to take note of life’s little blessings and give thanks for the relationships, experiences and opportunities that make them unique…”
What a pledge! I look forward to seeing where this journey takes me.
