We are on day 3 of The Gratitude Challenge, and I am surprised at the effect it has already had on my perspective. Yesterday we were asked to use the alphabet as a guide for taking an inventory of all the things I am grateful for. I thought this task would be quick and simple, but I must admit it took me a while to come up with things for even the simplest letters, like “m” and “p.” I knew that the more difficult letters like “q” and “x” would be tough, but the other letters really surprised me. As a result, this exercise left me really uncomfortable.
Fortunately things turned around and as I went through today items randomly popped into my head. For instance in church this morning the word Madonna came to me. Yes, I realize it’s ironic the that I realized that I was thankful for Madonna while I was in church, but it also made me realize that I am thankful for all kinds of music.
So, I decided to rewrite my list after my day of revelations and share it with you. I am sure it will keep evolving throughout this experience, but I think that just means that this is working and I am being more aware and therefore, more thankful.
From A- Z, I am thankful for…
A – Annie, my sister. No one makes me laugh the way she does.
B – Bradley, my husband. I am lucky to have married my best friend.
C – Chocolate. The great de-stresser.
D – Dogs. No one can life my spirits like my pup and his big black eyes.
E – Earth. This place is beautiful.
F – Family. My big fat Italian family. They’re loud. They’re crazy. They made me who I am.
G – God.
H – hahaha. I am thankful for laughter.
I – Italian. Though I tell everyone I am American, I am happy I grew up with Italian parents and the traditions that they instilled in me.

K – Kisses.
L – Lattes. They always hit the spot.

O – Organization. I am actually glad that I’m a planner.
P – Pancakes. Especially, sharing pancakes with great friends and family.

Wow! Gratitude Challenge! I’m thinking I can get on board with this challenge. I’m inspired to begin my own gratitude list.
I’m loving your list, thanks for the lift! I’m going to join the challenge and see how many people I can get involved at work.
Madonna is one of the best celebs in history. I definitely wish she keeps on singing.
