For Christmas, one of my best friends gave me a Williams-Sonoma Food Made Fast: Soup cookbook, and I’ve been cooking up a storm ever since. Quick, easy and absolutely delicious, soup is my ideal winter meal—all of the recipes are full of wholesome and healthy ingredients that are ready in a flash. Plus since so many of them feature hunks of meat (Mexican meatball soup, chicken and kale, crab and avocado), it’s easy to find something filling enough for the men in the family.

So next time it’s cold and blustery outside and you’re about to pick up the phone for yet another pizza delivery, search through the pantry for some chicken stock and veggies instead. You might have a steaming hot bowl of healthy and hearty soup before you know it!

  1. Man, my grandmother was from Sicily and she made the most incredible meatballs I ever tasted, like you had died and gone to meatball heaven. Sadly, she died last year and she didnt leave a recipe for me so I’ve been trying to figure it out by myself… slowly working my through the meatball recipes here, I still cant figure out what her secret ingredient was though!!!
