Year of the Ox

Gung Hei Fat Choi or Happy New year! As you may have heard today marks the 2009 Chinese New Year – The Year of the Ox.   So, we wondered, what does it mean for our readers who are expecting to have a baby in 2009?

Well, people born under this sign are said to be dependable, calm, patient, hardworking, ambitious, honest, logical, and tenacious.  All great qualities!  However, they are also expected to be stubborn, narrow-minded, rigid and demanding.

I am not sure if this really means anything, but it’s definitely fun to think about.

I’m off to eat some good Chinese food and celebrate with family! Gung Hei Fat Choi is the Cantonese version. You can also say “Gong Xi Fa Cai” which is Mandarin for Happy New Year!
