You Deserve A Spa Day

Does work seem extra busy lately? Are the kids full of extra energy because school is out? Are you just tired in general?  Life can be pretty stressful, so stressful that sometimes we forget to take time for ourselves.

If you’re looking for a affordable and simple way to unwind, consider having an at-home spa day or half day to help you beat the stress. Below are just a few ideas to get you started:

Setting
Studies have shown that the smell of lavender slows brain waves, so start your spa time off right with taking a hot bath or shower in a room filled with lavender scented candles or incense.  If you have time for a long bath, consider reading a book or simply take in the moment while you let your tired eyes soak under chilled tea bags. Make sure the tea is caffeinated.

Diet
Eat light on your spa day by eating whole, nutritious foods.  Consider starting your day with an all-natural fruit smoothie and following that up with salads and lean proteins throughout the rest of the day.

Treatments

  • Honey-Oatmeal Facial: Do your own gentle extractions with a home-made mixture of honey and warm oatmeal.  Press the mixture onto your pores and when you pull up the stickiness of the mixture will unclog your pores.
  • Mani/Pedi: Pick out your favorite color and give yourself an at-home mani/pedi.  To get a more professional look, file nails into a square shape.  Also, be sure to moisturize your cuticles.
  • Care for your Hair: Is your hair dry and limp from the hot summer sun?  Take this time to do an at home deep conditioning treatment while you finish your other treatments.
