You Tell Us: Time Out
I’ve often heard parents and educators say that sending a child to “time out” gives him or her time for quiet reflection, helping kids to learn from their bad behavior. But according to experts, sometimes time out can do more harm than good—especially when used incorrectly.
This article from FOXNews.com cites an example of an eight-year-old girl who was left alone in a school time-out room for three hours!
This tragic story is a clear example of time out gone wrong, but are do you find merit in this form of punishment for kids? Would you object to your child’s school or day care using time-out rooms? You tell us!

I am not sure that I like the idea of a time out room. I would also need to know the timeout guidelines that the school established and make certain that they were in line with my parenting. A whole day in timeout? Ridiculous!!
I believe in one minute per year and that has worked well for our family.
