LeapFrog recently released a “BlackBerry for Kids” that comes with a full keyboard, pretend SMS texting, games and other features that simulate a real cell phone. Although some parents are responding that they like the idea because their little ones are constantly trying to steal their phones, others seem to be afraid that their kids might develop a “CrackBerry” addiction too soon. Perhaps even more disturbing, some parents say that their toddlers would recognize the difference between this toy version and the real thing, opting to keep stealing Mom’s phone than play with their own!

What do you think? Would your child enjoy a BlackBerry toy? Does the idea of cell phone addiction worry you at all? Is this a symptom of our kids growing up too fast? You tell us!

My kids’ favorite toys are so much simpler than this–they love reading their books, banging around with pots and pans and using their imaginations to play dress up! I think it’s kind of terrifying how fast some kids grow up.

I barely trust myself with a blackberry let alone a kid! No way! I think kids should play with toys and treasure their childhood instead of rushing to grow up!
