Between the diapers, bottles, sleepless nights and runny noses sometimes moms just need a night out with some girl friends to kick back, relax and find the funny in the midst of the mundane.
That said, it’s not always easy to organize a Mom’s Night Out, so here are a few tips to get you started.
1) Find some kindred moms!
If you don’t already have a core group of moms you love to hang out with, hop onto the Internet to research some local moms’ groups. If you can’t find any organizations or groups that already exist, consider contacting local churches or hospitals with maternity wards to see if they offer some options. Still nothing? How about putting up a flier at your local library, coffee shop, or anywhere else that you think like minded moms might be hanging out. You can even carry some personalized business cards to make it easy to share your contact information with nice moms you meet around town.
2) Brainstorm some ideas and locations
Bowling night? Pizza party? Spa evening? Or how about a simple evening of bonding over some munchies and music? The sky is the limit when it comes to Mom’s Night Out options. Some local venues might even be willing to roll out the red carpet for a group of local moms. Never hurts to ask!
3) Pick a date or two
Your Mom’s Night Out doesn’t have to be a one time event. You could choose to reserve every first Monday. Just be sure to give your friends plenty of notice. Everyone knows moms need a lot of lead time to organize some time away from the family!
4) Invite everyone!
All that planning will be fruitless if you don’t give everyone fair warning. Send out adorable party invitations or just blast your group with an enticing email. Give everyone plenty of notice and all the pertinent details so they’ll know where and when to show up.
5) Have FUN!
A great Mom’s Night Out is the perfect way to blow off some steam, bond with others going through the same challenges as you, have fun and relax. After a night out with your friends you’ll feel better equipped to handle all of life’s little stresses.
