Meet Vivienne Zimmermann, one of the talented photographers who contributes her work to Tiny Prints. Read on to learn more about her and see her gorgeous shots in some of our holiday cards!
So much of my childhood exists in the albums on the bookshelves of the home where I grew up. When my memory fails me (and fails me, it does), I am fortunate to know I can grab one of those perfectly organized photo albums (thanks to my mom’s hard work and dedication) to help fill the gaps.
While photography has always been an integral part of my life, it was when I became a mother (I have two awesome little dudes—now ages five and seven) that my photography genes really kicked into overdrive. I suddenly found myself with an insatiable desire to improve my technical skills. The photos I snapped just didn’t adequately capture the emotions I was feeling. So ever since my kids were born, I’ve been snapping away. Embracing technology, honing my skills like crazy, and capturing as many moments and details as possible.
Rather than focusing on people, places and events, I love and use photography to capture moments, emotions, and connections. For me, it’s not about the perfect smile, but the way a son grins at his mother after telling a silly joke. It’s not the perfectly combed hair, but the love and tenderness a father shows his daughter. Perfect positioning goes out the window as I quickly snap to capture siblings goofing around.
The images I capture tell a story. I want you to look at my images and hear the giggles and sense the joy. I want my boys to see their photographs and know they were loved. And I want to share my time, talent and vision with others who want the same things for their own families.
