Baby Shower Registry

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

I’ve been getting a lot of baby registry links these days which are really cool. In a previous entry, I explained that these types of registries are similar to wedding ones. The couple adds things they’ll need to prepare for their baby and friends and family can go directly to sites and stores to find exactly what they want. A few sites such as Myregistry.com and ThethingsIwant.com offer couples the option of choosing items from various companies and online stores at one place. Then of course there are more common online registries for Target and Babies “R” Us with contents specifically from their store.

Regardless of which registry you choose, I’ve heard that the process can be overwhelming. One friend told me how shocking it was to find out just how much stuff a little baby needs. For all of you new mommies and daddies in the same boat, check out this article on Pregnancy.com for advice on how to make shopping for your new baby fun and not overwhelming.

Another great baby shower gift!

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Building on my last post about baby shower gifts, Tiny Prints also has another way to give the new mom in their life something unique and different. It’s a perfect time when she is at home with baby to chronicle every precious moment she gets to experience. This way she’ll remember and be able to share these moments with everyone she loves.

I’m talking about the Tiny Prints Lasting Memories Kits. They have one for boys and one for girls. The kit includes darling cards that prompt new parents to document all the new firsts in their baby’s life. These would work great as a stand alone gift or as a perfect add on to the stationery gift bag I mentioned in my last post.

Baby Shower Gifts

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

If you’re looking for something to give the mommy-to-be, here are a few ideas that go beyond the typical baby bottle and diaper cake gift. One thing you could do is create a bag of goodies for the new family. Include address labels with the family’s name, cute gift tags for the new family to use on future gifts, and matching thank you cards. Put them in a cellophane bag facing out so all of her goodies can be seen.

These can be personalized, comes in different colors, and is a thoughtful way to make the mom to be feel special that’s a little out of the ordinary, and so very extraordinary!

Unique Favor Ideas

Friday, April 25th, 2008

A lot of people don’t realize that the invitations on Tiny Prints are so easy to customize that it allows you to get really creative. For instance, one idea I had was to give your guests a recipe as a unique party favor idea. All you have to do is select a Tiny Prints invitation design and change the text so that it features one of your favorite sweet treats. Then the “recipe card” can be paired with a baking utensil (cookie cutter, measuring cup, etc.). This is a fun way to share your most-loved recipes with your friends and family.

Check out two different examples with my favorite recipe for Red Velvet Cupcakes (yes, we love cupcakes at Tiny Prints and like to blog about them):

And these recipes can be paired with these delightful measuring cups…

Teddy Cupcakes

Continuing from my previous post about Kara’s cupcakes, I thought I would show you some cute designs that would go great with a Teddy Bear themed baby shower or birthday party. Teddy bears are popular for both boys and girls. Here, you can give away Kara’s cute treats as favors which would match perfectly with our adorable baby shower invites.

Baby Shower Registry

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Taking its cue from the wedding industry, companies have created baby shower registries to help new parents pick out their much needed necessities. I found out about this great idea from a recent baby shower invitation I received recently. Having fun with my own wedding registry, I thought the fun stopped there, but I was wrong. There are a ton of cool sites you’ll find if you do a simple Google search for “baby shower registry.” But for you mommies and daddies-to-be out there, you can also look into creating a registry at your favorite stores. This will help you and your shower guests figure out just what you need.

Baby Shower Fun

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Our baby shower party past has consisted of all women guests. But nowadays, like bridal showers, this traditionally American get together has seen a modern twist. Both men and women are invited and in some cases parties have consisted of just men.

The last few baby showers I have been to have been huge! With both singles and couples, everyone came together to celebrate with the mom and dad-to-be. There were some really creative games. Games I’m sure you’ve all played such as find the safety pin in a bowl of uncooked rice blindfolded! Or how about guess what type of baby toy or baby related product such as a bottle is inside a brown paper bag? Oh and the ultimate baby party game? Melted candy bars in diapers. Guests have to smell and taste at their own risk those chocolate concoctions that resemble you know what!

Whatever games are played, there is a lot of room for creativity and fun in planning a shower. Usually done by a close friend and for the first baby, these parties help prepare the parents for this big life change. Traditionally, hosts provide favors for the guests. These mint tins are adorable and a perfect fit for a mommy-to-be who’s preparing for a little girl. See all her tiny clothes hanging.
