There are a number of great places to register when you’re pregnant, there’s no doubt about it.  But there are also a multitude of amazing places that sell baby items that don’t offer a Baby Registry.  Case in point:  Tiny Prints!  How great would it be to choose your favorite birth announcement, register for them, and then receive a gift certificate for the entire set at your baby shower?!

Happily, I’ve discovered a site that will allow you to do just that.  Introducing…Wishpot.  This all-in-one shopping site allows you to download a tool to your browser’s toolbar.  Any time you see an item that you like, you simply click the toolbar button and that item is added to your wish list.  The best part is, they also offer a baby registry!  Friends and family can easily and quickly access your wish list, just as they would in a traditional registry.  The main difference is that items from far and wide can be included, from babyGap to Babies R Us, small boutiques to online retailers like Tiny Prints.

I’m already using this amazing service for my personal shopping and wish lists.  Wishpot will even do price comparisons across the internet to find you the best deal on your desired product.  For a shopping addict like me, it’s a dream come true.  Isn’t technology grand?

Throwing a baby shower doesn’t mean you have to throw sophistication out the window.  In fact, books such as Preggatinis offers great mocktail recipes are safe for the mom-to-be.  Here is one of our favorite recipes from the book:

Sparkling Citrus

Ingredients:

• 2-3 drops Fee’s grapefruit bitters* (optional)
• 2 ounces freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
• 1 ounce tangerine juice
• Top with blood orange soda
• Stirrings Tangerini® rimming sugar

Instructions: Rim a champagne flute with rimming sugar. Pour in juices, bitters and top with blood orange soda.

There are so many of my friends preparing to have their second child that I have started to lose count!  With the second child there seems to come a lot of questions.  One question that has come up several times is – Is it okay to have a baby shower for a second child?

In the past etiquette would deem it to be inappropriate.  However, it seems that lately this practice is becoming more and more popular (especially if baby #2  two is a different sex from baby # 1). After all, parents will always need the “smaller” necessities  things like diapers , undershirts or even new clothes altogether, and feeding supplies.

So, is having a baby shower for baby #2 a good idea or is it asking friends and family to give a little too much?  Or, perhaps it’s only appropriate in certain situations? If so, which?  You tell us…
