Happy Earth Day!

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

In honor of Earth Day, we are carpooling to work, walking to lunch and locking away all paper plates and plastic cutlery to encourage our coworkers to bring their own plates, cups and silverware from home. How will you be paying homage to Mother Earth today?

Create a Garden with Your Family

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Since April showers are famous for bringing sweet May flowers, now is the perfect time to gather your kids together to create a charming family garden. Whether you plant herbs, flowers or vegetables, getting your kids into the digging, planting and growing action is a fantastic way to have fun while simultaneously planting the seeds of a lifelong appreciation for nature and the environment.

To get started, check out some of the information at KidsGardening. This cute site has tons of info for parents and kids alike, including step-by-step instructions for creating your own unique garden. I highly recommend planting flowers that will attract butterflies and hummingbirds—I was always enchanted by these little creatures as a child!

Once your children get excited about tending the garden, you can reward them for all of their hard work with this adorable, eco-friendly stationery from Tiny Prints (just in time for Earth Day!).

Happy gardening!
