Great Ideas: Baby Shower Guest Book

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Instead of the traditional guest sign-in, why not do something different and give out blank note cards to have guests fill in their favorite recipes? A great idea would be to ask other mothers for their homemade baby food recipes. Then, either send them the cards early for them to bring to the new mom’s big day or bring them to her shower. Each guest copies down the recipes with their name. That way mom can bring back something from the shower that will last a lifetime!

If your guests are clueless about cooking, give them a list of links to search for recipes. Check out Wholesomebabyfood.com for recipes like Sweet Potato and Pumpkin baby food! Or serve pear puree with recipes from Simplybabyfoodrecipes.com. We’re never disappointed by whatever Martha Stewart does. Check out her recipe for homemade baby food.

Then, just choose your card!

Planning a Beach Party

Monday, July 14th, 2008

The sun is out and summer is here! Why not plan a beach party for friends and family?

Invitations. These Go Fish birthday party invitations would go perfectly with a seaside gathering.

Favors. Purchase colorful pails for the kids. Fill them up with little bottles of sunscreen, a towel, and a bag filled with Goldfish crackers. Tie name tags on each pail with the names of your guests.

Activities. There are so many things you can do at the beach that you don’t need to have planned activities. If you want extra ideas, however, throw a sand castle making contest or check out FamilyFun for more ideas.

Food and Drinks. Whether you decide to barbecue or prepare a picnic lunch, keep it cool with fresh fruits, a salad and fruity drinks.
