With Valentine’s Day right around the corner (and the weekend only hours away), we’ve got date night on the brain. Have you decided how you’re going to spend February 14th with your sweetheart? Today we’re dishing up our favorite date ideas, some you’ve heard and others are meant to mix things up a bit. Leave us a comment below to let us know your favorite—and add anything we may have left out!
Dinner and a Movie
This one’s a classic, but our version has a modern spin. Start by picking out a movie and a recipe that interest you both. Head to the farmers’ market or grocery together to gather your ingredients and pick up your flick. Cook, savor, see—and don’t forget dessert!
Get Out and Active (Zip Lining, Anyone?)
We Tiny Prints staffers have the luxury of living near mountains and oceans out here in California, which offers a wealth of outdoor activities including hiking and zip lining through the Redwoods, kayaking, biking and skiing. Spending time outdoors together is the perfect way to enjoy the fresh air and forget about the hassles of daily life for a few hours, even if it’s just a walk around the block.
DIY Wine Tasting
Visit your local wine cellar or specialty shop to pick out a few different bottles of wine you aren’t familiar with. For an added treat, ask the sales associates about recommendations for cheese and fruit pairings and pick those up as well. This is an easy way to create a fun evening at home and learn something new.
Re-create Your First Date
Whether you’ve been married for five years or 50, we’re going to bet that you haven’t forgotten your first date. This Valentine’s Day, re-create that special day down to the very last detail. It may take some planning (or even a getaway!) but it will definitely be worth the memories.
A Trip to the Ice Cream Parlor
This date may be old-fashioned, but it’s certainly not out of style. What’s more fun (or romantic) than a milkshake with two straws? This outing will surely make you feel like a kid again—just make sure you don’t skimp on the whipped cream!
