Birthdays are always fun to plan and even more fun to attend, especially when the cake is delicious!
Ever since my daughters were born I’ve made a point of trying to bake their birthday cakes, though I’ll admit that some years I didn’t quite pull it off. (We won’t mention the first birthday cake that my husband dropped on the way to the party. Seems that 12-month-olds don’t care about how the cake looks!)
The home baked cakes and store bought cakes have been equally tasty, but I do have a soft spot in my memory for the ones that I spent a little extra time crafting the night before the big events.
