Every year around this time, I’m faced with the same dilemma—what to buy and how much to spend? Since my family celebrates Hanukkah and Christmas, we started a tradition a few years back of setting ground rules for gifts. Each year the rules change, whether it’s monetary limits or requiring at least one gift to be handmade, to keep things fun and exciting without breaking the bank. Does your family set any kind of limits on gift giving during the holiday season?

Do you agree on a budget for holiday spending or do you love to splurge? What family traditions do you have for exchanging presents? Are there any fun ways you like to give during the holidays that don’t involve presents? You tell us!

We always set a limit – this year, $25 for each kid (6 and 4).
