You Tell Us: What to Do with the Placenta?
I know this topic might make a lot of people squeamish, but I appreciate how thoughtful and honest Lil Sugar was in this post about “Reinventing the Afterbirth.” She says she reached her limit when she learned about the keepsake placenta teddy bear featured below:
She also offers less odd options, including burying the placenta in the garden, eating it or following the lotus birth tradition of creating a pouch to store the placenta until your child naturally separates from it.
Do any of these options appeal to you? Will you plan to follow any of them for your next child? What are your thoughts on keeping the afterbirth? You tell us!

Not sure I understand why women are obsessed with it. Your baby is HERE now! Focus on that.

I’m with Jessica. My baby is a lovely souvenir of the birthing process. I don’t need anything else.

I wouldn’t eat it, I wouldn’t keep it, I wouldn’t bury it whatever the hospital does with it is fine with me

Well, my last baby girl came and two placentas came out after. My husband cried, were we supposed to have twins? They studied it and said not twins, If it were we would have definitely buried them with much sorrow. BUT OH SICK gag on what looks like a pork rind teddy bear.
